Nashville, Tennessee immediately conjurs images of its role as the heart of the southern music scene. But residents here know that Nashville is more than a town where the stars of tomorrow are made, it is a city of many superlatives. It is the home of Vanderbilt University, one of America's top schools. Its setting is one of the nation's best as well, with the breathtaking beauty of rolling hills and clear blue lakes within and surrounding the town. Nashville has a mild climate throughout the year, with very few days of extreme temperatures. But because it is technically a four-seasons area, Nashville's scenery changes throughout the year, a delight for locals and visitors alike, who particularly enjoy the colorful tableau of Nashville in the fall. In the winter, Nashville has the aura of a small town with its millions of holiday lights and decorations.

Nashville draws folks from throughout the nation to make their home within its borders. Aspiring musicians, singers and songwriters come here to make their dreams come true. But the city offers just as much hope and promise to the thousands of singles, seniors, and families that relocate here each year as well.

Nashville now has a population of some 545,524 residents, with a median age of thirty four years old. Nearly thirty seven percent of locals here are employed in either a professional or managerial capacity. The second largest employment sector is the service industry, employing just over a quarter of Nashville residents, while just over seventeen percent work in an administrative capacity. The median household income within the city of Nashville is around $42,250 per year.

While there is an array of housing styles offered in this area, the majority of homes here are in multi-family complexes. Home ownership has proven to be a solid investment in the area, with steady appreciation over the years, especially as more and more people choose to live in this vibrant city. Recent sales figures indicate that the average purchase price of a home in Nashville is currently $269,368.

Nashville of course, one cannot think of Nashville without thinking of the city as the living heart of American music. There is simply no shortage of country, jazz, blues, gospel and rock in this town. The nightly performances of these uniquely American art forms have given Nashville the moniker of Music City. Locals here know that when they go to hear a performance by one of the town's Next Big Things that the audience will most likely contain some of the top names and faces in music today. And to no one's surprise, many of these celebrities choose to jump on stage for an impromptu jam with that evening's band.

And Nashville has just as much to offer during the day. The city maintains eight municipal golf courses and five private courses. If you enjoy taking in unique attractions, you might want to visit The Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson's home. Appropriately, the seventh President had his driveway shaped like a guitar, a fact that many locals here believe to be an early sign of the city's ultimate destiny. You could also spend a day at the Belle Meade Plantation, one of the most famous thoroughbred breeding sites in the world, with progeny such as Iroquois, War Admiral and Seabiscuit. Patrons of the arts will not want to miss the Athena Parthenos, the tallest indoor sculpture in the Western Hemisphere, located in the temple of the Parthenon.

There is certainly no doubt that Nashville offers something for every taste, every need and every desire. The city offers its residents excellent schools, friendly residents, and fantastic scenery, not to mention the chance to participate in the hottest music scene in America. I just wanted to say that I requested a free relocation package, and i'm so glad I did. Your relocation specialist Terri got in touch with me and she gave me some great information. I think she convinced my to finally move to Nasvhille and i'm scheduled to fly in next week. Terri is going to drive me around town a bit, and show me a few houses.

Thanks for the information, i'm sure to tell all my friends about this website!

Default Nashville has it all

Although I do not live in Nashville, I recently visited and found it to be an ideal city. I'm sure there are a number of people moving in and out on a continual basis, but everyone we encountered was extremely friendly! It seems as though it has all of the amenities of a big-city, but the personality of a small-town. Of course entertainment value of the community is exceptional, but I was truly pleased to see that the traffic was never obnoxious, the food was great, and the shopping opportunities were excellent. My husband and I drove through the number of residential areas that had lovely homes with beautiful old trees and a very safe feeling. I think you'll enjoy it. Good luck!

I love Tennessee as well. I vacation there every year and have the best time. I have thought about moving toward the state line near SC.
